Everyday Things God takes
Seriously
Ever
heard the expression “Life is a marathon , not a sprint” ? This
is very true, your life is made up of seconds, minutes , hours , days
– individual units of time , and God is interested in what we do
with that time.
What
Things about our life is God Concerned with:
- Our Thought Life:
Phillipians
4:8
Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good
report;
if there be any
virtue,
and if there be any
praise,
think on these things.
Paul
gives us a good guideline or something you can measure your thought
life with in this verse
Proverbs
24:9 The thought
of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
When
“Thought” is described here it refers to the devising of sinful
action-essentially willfully planning to do something that is
contrary to the word of God.
James 1:14, 15
But
every man is tempted,
when he is drawn away of his own lust,
and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived,
it bringeth forth sin; and sin,
when it is finished bringeth forth death"
Satan
in the world want to “Draw you away from the people of God, the
Word of God and The House of God -also realize temptation is not sin,
but when the temptation turns to action then it becomes sin and –
The WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH.
- Our Conversations Collosians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Be
mindful that those you talk to on a daily basis are Souls with one
of two destinations – Will your speech draw them closer to a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ or drive them further away-
This includes facebook status, and tweets, text messages etc.
Matthew
12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle
word that men shall speak, they shall give
account thereof in the day
of judgment.
Notice
the last 2 verses- God inspired the writers to remind us with Strong
words such ALWAYS, and EVERY -God is compiling all
of the data and we will give an account for all that we say that was
not God honoring and did not represent our Saviour in a positive way.
WHY
ARE THESE THINGS SO IMPORTANT?John 3:3030
He must increase, but I must decrease.31
He
that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is
earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is
above all.32
And
what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth
his testimony.33
He
that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is
true.34
For
he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not
the Spirit by measure unto him.35
The
Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.36
He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and
he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of
God abideth on him
